What's Happening in Writer's Workshop?

In Writer's Workshop, we are working on personal narratives or "Small Moment" stories. We are working on taking a small moment in our life and turning it into a story. The students are working on stretching out the sounds in words to spell, using speech bubbles to show dialogue, and using a Magic 3 (using 3 adjectives to describe something). We have learned how to use these techniques by studying several great stories from Kevin Henkes!! One of our favorite stories so far is Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse!

Working on spelling words on our own!!

Let's Take a Leaf Walk!

In Science, we have been learning about different kinds of trees and leaves. In this project, students worked both individually and with partners to discover different characteristics that can be found in different leaves. To collect the leaves, we took a walk on our fitness trail.

Hard at work!

It was fun to search for leaves!

We love the fitness trail!!!

Apple Switch Day!

We have been learning about different kinds of apples. Here are examples of some of the art work we made using "Apple Prints".
